We are very grateful to have found Mrs. Brinchman. My son has always struggled to read. Within the first month he would sit and read a book on his own for fun! He has enjoyed being tutored and working with Mrs. Brinchman very much. She is very thorough. His reading grade level has climbed wonderfully.

After my son's assessment at a franchise tutoring service, it seemed I was only told what I already knew. Mrs. Brinchman provided the thorough assessment I was seeking. I understand my son's situation much better.

Mrs. Brinchman (or Mrs B) has been teaching our daughter for close to an year. She teaches our daughter in a 1:1 setting in work/play mode. She divides each lesson into 12-15 mins interval and moves them to another section so that kids stay engaged and enjoy the activity. Mrs B. uses lot of tools and techniques to work on different areas with the kids and provides details at the end of the every class.
Our daughter has made phenomenal progress and loves going to her on weekly basis. Mrs B is very patient, kind and gentle with her. She understands and teaches our daughter just right so that our daughter is being pushed to level tad above hers but feels that it is achievable. We have seen her feeling confident and better about her reading and Math skills this past year.
We are pleased and amazed how much our daughter enjoys going to Mrs. B and looks forward to every lesson with her.

We started using Mrs. Brinchman at the end of my sons first grade school year. Over the summer he has improved his reading and now feels more comfortable with his school work and has a confidence we didnt get from his teachers at school alone. We would recommed San Diego Tutors for any child. Good instruction very helpful.

San Diego Tutors has been tutoring our 10 year old primarily with reading comprehension and math for 1 1/2 years. The progress our daughter had made in just several sessions was impressive. Mrs. Brinchman's educational background along with her varied style of teaching and presentation of the curriculum keeps our daughter engaged. We've noticed a remarkable progression in her learning curve. She's been an advocate for our daughter. Mrs. Brinchman holds our highest regard. We highly recommend her services.Don't hesitate to call as it will be the best investment in your child's education!

We have been sending our third grader and our fifth grader to San Diego Tutors for close to a year. The results have been remarkable. Our third grader's reading skills have improved significantly - so much so that his teachers have repeatedly commented on the improvements. Our fifth grader has benefited from occasional sessions for difficult math concepts and again, the results have been solid. One-on-one instruction, extensive knowledge of tested material, use of the computer, rewards for performance and detailed notes on every session-a parent looking for high quality tutoring could not find a better service.
We recommend San Diego Tutors without hesitation or reservation.
Mrs. Brinchman is an excellent tutor! She has been tutoring my child with math for almost a year and there has definitely been an improvement! Her one on one technique is effective and her patience and care is evident. My daughter feels comfortable and enjoys her math sessions with Mrs. Brinchman.
Mrs. Brinchman is an outstanding tutor that I highly recommend. Our 12 year old son has been tutored for over a year. Over that time, he has transitioned from a "D" to a "B" student, and although Sue is probably not totally responsible for that, there is no doubt she a large contributor. Her patience, knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and demeanor are unmatched. We have used her for specific subject assistance or simply to "fill the holes" in our child's education.
UPDATE BY MRS. B: This student obtained "straight A's" on his 7th grade report card, sent to me by his parent! They attributed his success in great part to his tutoring experience with San Diego Tutors!
Before I found San Diego Tutors, I was very concerned about my daughter's math comprehension. After Sue's careful evaluation I discovered that my daughter's confusion had a lot to do with how math was being presented in school. I felt powerless before coming to her and she put control back into my hands by teaching me how math is best understood by a first grader and in particular, my first grader. I highly recommend Sue. She is a truly gifted educator.
We looked at most of the larger, franchised offerings for tutoring and were dissatisfied with the level of personal attention. Thankfully we found San Diego Tutors!
Sue takes a personal interest in her students and provides customized testing and programs. Her approach identifies discreet areas of weakness and then methodically assists the student in overcoming such weakness - all without endless worksheets! Further, she has created an environment in her home that is quiet, calm and highly conducive to learning.
Between the 1st-4th grades we have tried several different types of tutoring for my son. Mrs. Brinchman is the first that could hold his attention and keep him on track. He is now volunteering to do extra credit schoolwork when previously it was like pulling teeth just to get the nightly assignments completed. It has only been a few months but I am seeing improvements in several areas. I highly recommend Mrs. Brinchman.

My son struggled in grades 2-3 and continued into 4th grade. We've had a few tutors in the past and while they helped, they weren't anywhere near on par with Mrs. Brinchman.[He] absolutely loves her and looks forward to his sessions every time. This is quite a feat as he always resisted tutoring in the past.My son began improving dramatically very quickly and is now confident in his work. More than that, he is excited about his schoolwork and tutoring sessions, something I never thought I'd see. His grades are steadily improving and his teacher has praised his improvements.
I would highly recommend Mrs. Brinchman to anyone who would like to help their child improve in their schoolwork, confidence and overall attitude about learning. You won't regret it!!!

As a K-12 reading specialist, in addition to being an English Teacher and part-time university professor, I still see many children 'slipping through the cracks' when it comes to being proficient in literacy skills. Individual tutoring sessions are one way to help give students tools they need to succeed that they are not getting in the classroom. If your child is struggling, getting an experienced tutor can be very worthwhile. This particular tutor is exceptional and a valuable resource!

I am very happy to give [Mrs. Brinchman] my highest recommendation. She and I worked together for several years ... and I found her to be a very dedicated and caring Resource Specialist at a school that had a difficult population. She was always on top of things, and is a very well organized and knowledgeable teacher. She was well respected by parents, students, teachers and support staff. She has expertise regarding Special Ed law and runs a tight IEP meeting, follows timetables and is well aware of compliance issues.

"I am very pleased to submit the name of Susan Brinchman as a candidate for a 'Hat's Off To Teachers" award.
Working closely with Sue this year has enabled me to make the following observations about her special relationship with children.
Sue's knowledge of curriculum content has served her well in planning, organizing, and implementing an exemplary program for her students. Her academic program includes a variety of hands-on learning activities, cooperative learning strategies and field trips to extend learning....Some visitors to Sue's classroom find it difficult to believe they are in a room of students with severe emotional disorders (SED)... [her teaching methods] keep the students motivated to learn ...."

Trying to thank you for what you have done for Jason this year is an exercise in futility! There are no words to adequately express our gratitude for literally turning Jason's academic and personal life around. We have watched the changes take place and still can hardly believe the difference you have made. Our heartfelt thanks are yours - always.

Thanks to your interest and dedication to Steven, he is constantly improving. He is maturing so much, emotionally, as well as intellectually and I know that you have been a great influence in his life. Thank you for the support over the last 2 years. You will always be remembered.
